Your South Wales Wedding - September/October 2022 (Issue 87)

We had a trailer bar run by Gower Brewery and hired toilets for the day. Jonny and I cannot thank everyone enough for what they did for us to make sure our day went ahead in just days! When we walked in on our wedding day, we were overwhelmed and completely speechless. It was breathtaking! As there was no kitchen in the barn, we had to thi nk of what food we could offer our guests. Jonny knew the owner of The Greedy Pig who did a hog roast, and Ocean View Windmill Gower offered to do some cold platters to accompany the hog. For our evening food, we asked The Gower Dough Co if they could bring their double-decker bus and do fresh pizzas, which was a massive hit with our guests. A week before the wedding, we had the devastating news that our wedding venue, Ocean View Windmill Gower, had caught fire and were unable to host our wedding reception. We were absolutely devasta ted and not sure what we were going to do! We were kindly offered to use Weobley Castle as our venue, and with just five days until the wedding, it was a ll systems go. Lynne from Ocean View Windmill Gower organised for a ma rquee to be set up and was more than happy to help, and the owner of The Wedding Business offered to dress the marquee for us. Jonny and his mum, Diane, made our centrepieces with hoops, flowers and floating candles. 48
