July/August 2021

Here at Your South Wales Wedding, we’re celebrating our 80th issue! It seems like just yesterday that I picked up the magazine for the first time, but here we are nearly five years later. Our first issue launched in 2008, and since then, we’ve featured some amazing weddings, fabulous styled shoots, and seen the community go above and beyond for its couples, especially in the last year. We cannot thank all of you enough for your support as, after all, we wouldn’t be here without you!

To celebrate, we’ve put together a showstopping issue that’s full of inspiration. We have three real weddings, five styled shoots, the latest images from local photographers and a must-see micro-weddings guide. What’s more, our fashion section is full of fabulous boho and Hollywood-inspired dresses.

We love seeing your real weddings and styled shoots, so if you’d like to be featured, get in touch via our website or email me at Melissab@kdmediapublishing.com

Craig Y Nos Castle

Located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, Craig Y Nos Castle is a grand wedding venue full of character and charm. The historic castle has a long and interesting history and was once home to Adelina Patti, the worldfamous opera singer. The staff are available for tours, so there are plenty of opportunities to take those all-important photographs.

Those looking for accommodation will love the 36 beautifully decorated en suite bedrooms. There’s also an on-site gym with high-quality apparatus, a private lounge and a luxurious hot tub.

The Theatre is one of only eight Grade I listed opera houses in the UK and can hold 120 guests for the ceremony. The space boasts a 125-year-old curtain depicting Madame Patti on a chariot in Rossini’s last Italian opera, and the walls are decorated with the names of Patti’s favourite composers.

Following the service, couples can choose from a variety of reception spaces. The Conservatory can accommodate 130 friends and family, and the Music and Billard Room can be used to create space for 120 nearest and dearest.

The Patti Bar and Nicolini Lounge are located in the centre of the castle and are available for loved ones to use throughout the night.

I set up The Naked Vegan and wanted to create fabulous products using only the finest pure naked ingredients, hence the name. I'm always coming up with new ideas and spend months perfecting recipes and designs, because of this, everyone can enjoy my wonderful bakes. My passion is to make the best tasting products that everyone, not just vegans, can enjoy.

Lisa Armstrong, award-winning make-up artist and brand ambassador for new Beauty Hygiene Plus shares her top three make-up hacks...1."There are so many tips and tricks of the trade, however I think that when doing a make-up look, such as my smoky eye, I would advise that you always start with the eyes. When I do it at work, or on a new client, sometimes they think I'm mad because I haven't started with their face. By doing the eye make-up first, any fallout or mascara spillages that may happen are easy to clean up before you put your primer on and start with the face make-up. It allows you to make a beautiful base with no marks or smears, allowing you the most flawless finish!"
