Valentine’s Day has been and gone, and for those of you who received a gorgeous ring, congratulations! My partner and I celebrated with dinner and a trip to the cinema. We’re not big fans of over-the-top gestures, so for us, it was the perfect way to spend the evening. But enough about the winter—can you believe it’s May already? I’m so excited that summer is finally here and that I can unpack my dresses and say goodbye to the cold weather.
If you’re picking up our magazine for the first time, then you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed by the planning process. First, try not to panic! Gilestone Manor
Gileston Manor is a Grade II* listed Georgian manor house in the Vale of Glamorgan. The property has a range of on-site accommodation, including tastefully converted five-star self-catering guest suites. The extensive grounds include an 18th-century walled garden, a summer house and impressive views across the Bristol Channel. The hotel has two resident alpacas, Bill and Ben, who may join in the festivities or photographs.
St Giles Church, located within the grounds of Gileston Manor, is ideal for religious ceremonies for up to 80 friends and family.
The Summer House is perfect for a civil ceremony. Loved ones will have the option of sitting in the Walled Gardens or under cover in the Secret Garden.
Alternatively, the Folly, with its magnificent views across the heritage coastline, can be used for humanist services.
The bespoke marquee, a neutrally decorated space with twinkling fairylights that’s ideal for couples looking for a blank canvas, is available for receptions. Up to 130 friends and family can attend the wedding breakfast, and there is room for 200 for the evening celebration.
