May/June 2020

Firstly, I hope all of our readers have been keeping well during this surreal, unprecedented time. It would be hard for me to not mention the dreaded c-word, however, I admire how everyone, no matter how badly they have been effected, has come together to help and support one another. The tide will start turning, and we can all begin to re-plan cancelled weddings, re-book honeymoons and get back to our wonderful world of weddings – supporting local couples and businesses finding their feet again!

Summer is full of beautiful hues and al fresco celebrations so to help inspire you we’ve put together an issue bursting with inspiration. We have four real weddings starting on page 27, an explosion of colour in our fashion pages on page 65 and a stunning shoot on page 61. If you’re like me and love anything covered in chocolate or icing, then you’ll also adore our cakes feature on page 51.

We’re always looking for wedding and shoots to feature in the magazine, so if you’ve recently tied the knot or are planning to make sure you submit your wedding at - www.yoursouthwales.wedding/get-involved-real-wedding

Craig Y Nos Castle

Craig Y Nos Castle is located in the heart of the Brecon Beacons and is surrounded by acres of tranquil countryside. The property was once home to opera singer Adelina Patti and boasts 36 en suite bedrooms, a bar, a private lounge and a gym.

Couples can tie the knot in the Theatre with up to 120 friends and family. This flexible space is one of only eight Grade I listed opera houses in the UK. The room has a gorgeous 125-year-old curtain, depicting Madame Patti on a chariot in Rossini’s last Italian opera, and the walls are decorated with the names of Patti’s favourite composers.

Receptions can take place in the Conservatory. This beautifully decorated room can hold 130 nearest and dearest.

Alternatively, the Music Room and Billard room can be used to accommodate a further 120 loved ones for the evening celebration.

The Patti Bar and Nicolini Lounge are located in the centre of the castle, and both are available for guests to use throughout the night.
