September/October 2020

Welcome to our September/October issue! I feel a bit crazy saying that, how can it be October already, it feels like just yesterday that it was January?! I think we can all agree it’s been a crazy year, but it’s been so lovely seeing the South Wales wedding industry come together and help couples power through these tough times.

Whether you’ve recently got engaged – congratulations! – or are re-planning your special day, think of us as your new BFF when it comes to wedding planning. We’re here to support you through every aspect of your day and have put together an issue bursting with inspiration. Our fashion section is full of the latest trends for the whole bridal party, we’ve asked local suppliers for their top planning tips and put together a venue styling feature to help you create the perfect setting.

If you’re still looking for a venue, don’t despair, we’ve rounded up some of the best properties in the Vale of Glamorgan and taken a step back in time to highlight some historic wonders.

We’re always looking for real weddings and styled shoots to feature in the magazine, so make sure you submit yours at www.yoursouthwales.wedding/get-involved-real-wedding

Enjoy the issue!

Waxing 101 with Sugar Coated

Beauty therapist, and Sugar Coated sugar wax founder Rosie Khandwala gives her best tips to perfect the at-home wax, including how to deal with ingrown hairs, wax strip technique, and the dreaded bikini wax!Waxing removes hair from the roots. Shaving on the other hand cuts the hair from the surface ofthe skin. The regrowth with waxing is finer and slower as you do it more frequently, whereas shaving can cause hair to grow thicker and stronger and give a stubble feeling as hair regrows.Using a warm wax means the product is sticky and adheres to the hair. The warmth of the product will also open up the pores and loosen the hair resulting in hair being pulled from the root.
