January/February 2023 |
|
Welcome to the first issue of 2023! For those of you who received a ring underneath the Christmas tree or on Valentine’s Day – congratulations! We can’t wait to help you plan your special day.
If you’re unsure where to start planning, I found the best thing to do when I got engaged was to make a list of everything that you’d like to include in your day. From the big things like the venue and photographer down to the smaller details such as the cake topper and jewellery, write it all down. Now don’t panic if the list is a couple of pages long, not everything needs to be done right away and you can always change your mind. The list is there so you can see what items are important to you and to help you focus on one thing at a time. For some couples, the photographer may be the most essential supplier and for others, it may be the entertainment, however you envision your day is absolutely fine, just make sure you focus on what’s meaningful to you.
Once you have your list, you can begin planning. Always start with your venue, as this will dictate the day and time that you’re getting married. Once you have that set in stone, you can begin researching and booking the rest of your suppliers. If you’re looking for finishing touches, ideas for dressing the bridal party or venues in Cardiff, then you’re in luck, as this issue is full of inspiration.
If you’d like to have your wedding or a shoot featured, you can submit it via email or on our website.

Holm House Hotel
Built in 1926 by JS Neale, Holm House Hotel is a perfect example of ornate early 19th-century architecture fused with modern touches. Just a stone’s throw from Penarth’s restored Art Deco pier, the property offers expansive views over the Bristol Channel and the islands of Flat Holm and Steep Holm. This luxury four-star boutique hotel has a 1AA Rosette restaurant, an award-winning spa, a private garden and a stylish purpose-built outdoor bar, which is perfect for drinks in the sun and evening parties.
Holm House Hotel caters to ceremonies of all sizes, with the most intimate space seating 12 friends and family.
The lounge, with its homely feel and stunning feature fireplace, sets the scene for a romantic service and is ideal for up to 40 guests.
For ceremonies of 85 nearest and dearest, the restaurant, with spectacular views of the flourishing gardens and romantic seaside, creates the perfect backdrop for the couple to say ‘I do’.

Say 'I Do' to a Dry Wedding with Mavrik Alcohol-free Cocktails |
|
With a growing number of people going sober or choosing to moderate their drinking, the traditional wedding 'knees up' may be a thing of the past as today's couples opt for a more sober affair - which everyone can remember! In the past, non-drinkers or designated drivers would be somewhat left out of the celebrations with access to only a sad selection of soft drinks or juices. However, now nearlyweds-to-be are putting as much effort into deciding what alcohol-free drinks to offer as they would apply to sourcing the Champagne for the toasts! Plus, not only are dry weddings a huge money saver, but they also allow guests to enjoy the day with a clear head and leave the event with all those special memories firmly in tact.
