March/April 2024

Welcome to our March/April issue! I love this time of year partly because I adore spring weddings but also because of our bridal boutiques feature. It’s one of my favourites to write, and I always get excited seeing the stunning dresses that are available in our lovely region.

I got married a few years ago, so I know how stressful finding the perfect dress can be. I had no idea what style I wanted, but my wonderful consultant helped me pick my dream A-line gown. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the amount of choice available, make sure you listen to your consultant. They have years of experience and have helped brides of every shape and size find their dream gown, so they will know what looks good on you even if you don’t yourself. Go to your appointment with a rough idea of what you like, but try to keep an open mind. On paper, it might not be what you want, but it might still be the one. If you’re not sure where to start, check out our fashion section for heaps of inspiration.

Happy planning!

Celtic Manor Resort

The five-star Celtic Manor Resort, featuring several floors of immaculately designed guest rooms, is situated in the heart of the resort. Each of the bedrooms reflects the resort’s distinctive style and boast a sense of luxury.

The Caernarfon Ballroom is perfect for large-scale wedding celebrations. The grandeur of the ballroom, with its high ceilings and chandeliers, offers a dreamy backdrop to bring your wedding to life, with space for up to 900 guests.

The Rooftop Garden and Terrace is a relaxed and informal wedding venue that adds a bit of garden gorgeousness to your day. Children can play happily on the terrace and lawns, while celebrations take place in the warmth of the summerhouse with its very own smokehouse barbecue. This space can hold up to 130 of your friends and family and can be hired for exclusive use.

Alternatively, the historic 19th-century Manor House delivers the ultimate romantic wedding venue. Enjoy elegant manor house charm by day and dramatic period character by night. The intimacy of Hedleys, with its stained glass windows, ornate fireplaces and rich wood panelling, is ideal for smaller celebrations, while the Manor Suite can be used for larger wedding parties of up to 180 guests.

The Via Julia Suite and Chairman’s Marquee is the perfect space to transform with your own personal wedding style, with space for up to 180 of your nearest and dearest. Arrival drinks will be served from the private bar as the staff guides your guests into the marquee for your wedding breakfast. The outdoor patio offers the ideal place for guests to mingle, enjoy a cocktail, and take in views of the golf course.

The luxurious Clubhouse offers a picturesque backdrop for your wedding. By day, your guests will enjoy stunning views over the course, and by night, the interior of Rafters will add to your exclusively elegant wedding. This exclusive venue features a choice of two beautiful rooms: Rafters and the Samuel Ryder Suite. This luxuriously relaxed setting makes a striking statement with its soaring cedar wood beams, which lend the restaurant both its name and its atmosphere.

Nestled in the Usk Valley, the gorgeous Hunter Lodges offer an irresistible setting for an intimate wedding. Enjoy an informal ceremony with up to 40 family and friends in the lounge, followed by drinks and canapés outside on the deck. The perfect location for guests to celebrate and drink in the breathtaking views of the Twenty-Ten Course. For the ultimate getaway, the self-catering Hunter Lodges with open-plan spaces, a hot tub, a sauna and panoramic views, located in the resort’s grounds, are ideal for larger groups, accommodating up to eight adults and two children.

Immerse yourself in the ultimate pampering journey with Celtic Manor Resort’s two spas, including the award-winning Forum Spa and Ocius Treatment Rooms. There are also three championship golf courses on site, so you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to take your wedding photographs.
