Lauren and Gaz opted for a green and gold colour scheme for their wedding at Craig Y Nos Castle

Lauren and Gaz met in the summer of 2017. "Gaz was volunteering at my cattle ranch in Wyoming," says Lauren. "We were just friends until he went to leave, and sparks began to fly. When Gaz returned to the UK, we stayed in touch and after a few days, he had already booked his flight back to the ranch. His second stay was a little more romantic, and by the end of it, I had decided to follow him over to Wales for the winter season while he got his degree."

Gaz proposed in Clyne Woods near where he grew up in Swansea on New Year's Day. "It was such a lovely spot, and it was so special that it was just us and our dog in the beautiful forest," shares the bride. "The proposal itself wasn't a surprise as we had talked about it for a long time, but it was a really special moment, and I loved the ring that he picked out."

Teri and Kyle had a romantic celebration at Mounton Brook Lodge

Teri and Kyle met at work. "We went on to have our own business together," says Teri. "Kyle will tell you that he only asked me out to get a pay rise, but six years later, we're still together, and he never got that pay rise."

Kyle popped the question during a surprise weekend away in 2019. "He only revealed where we were going when we got to the airport," shares the bride. "He took me to Rome, which was where we went on our first holiday together and he had asked me to be his girlfriend three years earlier."

A group of talented suppliers worked together to create this shoot at St Mellons Country Club

Rhiannon Holland from Mefus Photography tells us more about this spring-inspired shoot: "I wanted to create something fresh with the creative freedom to try new things. From bridal make-up with a pop of colour, to bridal jumpsuits and fedoras, we wanted to showcase our creative vision and perspective clients that you don't have to follow current wedding trends, you can try something new. I purposely didn't write a shot list, something I usually can't leave the house without! I created some moodboards and brought a dream team together. On the day, we all felt relaxed and excited. There were no time pressures, no couples to please, just an opportunity to work together and create something beautiful.

Molly and Marc celebrated their big day at Hensol Castle with a white, gold and nude colour scheme

Molly and Marc met when they were teenagers. "We just clicked right away," says Molly. "Marc proposed on a safari in Dubai in 2017. It was a complete surprise! The jeep pulled into a sand dune as the sun was rising, and there were rose petals and candles set up for us."

"Getting married at Hensol Castle was like a fairytale. We loved the venue after attending my sister's wedding there. We wanted a property where we could stay all day, and the grounds were just stunning. Our catering was done by Hensol Castle. They provided warm Welshcakes, drinks on arrival and a three-course meal followed by a hog roast in the evening."

Out with the old - and in with the new wedding laws

The Law Commission of England and Wales has today outlined recommendations to reform weddings law that gives couples more choice over where and how their wedding takes place. This will be music to the ears of many couples who are currently restricted by many of the outdated regulations. The main law which governs marriage is from 1836 and it seems madness that modern couples are still having to adhere to these policies that do not reflect their beliefs or blended unions.

Amrit and Ash celebrated their love with a travel-themed wedding at St Tewdrics House

Amrit and Ash met during their second year of university. "We were put into a group together in one of our seminars and slowly got to know each other," says Amrit. "We eventually started dating the following summer. We have the same sense of humour and connected through music. We would often give each other recommendations, and when I had a radio show at university, Ash would send requests in. Once we graduated, we saved up and went travelling around the world for four months. We knew we wanted to be with each other forever, so we decided to move in together. Ash is from North Wales and I'm from the Midlands, so we agreed that wherever one of us got a job, we would move there. Ash got a job in Cardiff, and the rest is history."
