Liz and Aled had a beautiful wedding at Oldwalls Gower

Liz and Aled met through a mutual school friend. "We have a similar sense of humour and the same values," says Liz. "Aled took me away for my birthday in 2019 and proposed at Lake Garda in Italy. It was a complete surprise and a lovely holiday."

"Oldwalls Gower is a beautiful venue that hosted our ceremony and reception all under one roof. The property could accommodate overnight guests, and the alpacas were also a plus! We added extra touches where possible, including a 'snap it, shake it and sign it' guest book where our friends and family had access to an instant camera and could take a photo and include it as part of their message."

Made in Cymru has launched a new Welsh craft fair directory

Made in Cyrmu has introduced a new feature to help shoppers find local markets and craft fairs. The new online directory brings together hundreds of local market events in an easy-to-use responsive calendar format. With filters allowing people to search their region, shoppers across all of Wales can now find a craft fair, market or maker's event near them with ease.

The Craft Fair Directory is part of the wider mission of the popular online Welsh shopping marketplace Made in Cymru, to help promote Welsh-made products and spotlight Welsh businesses. The directory promotes everything from one-day independent artisan events to major recurring week-long markets and organisers can easily submit their events to attract more attention and more visitors. Many of the site's talented makers are already showcasing their work at these markets and fairs, so it made sense to encourage shoppers and makers to connect online and in the real world.

A team of local professionals worked together to create this styled shoot

When we saw these gorgeous images land in our inbox, we just knew our lovely readers would adore them. We spoke to the shoot coordinators Chris Andrews Photography and Hayley Rees from Misselthwaite Flowers Ltd to find out more: "We were all feeling quite down about weddings being cancelled during the pandemic, so we decided to come together to create this styled shoot. Chris suggested Ogmore by Sea Beach, which was perfect for sunset shots and his brilliant shooting style. Hayley used the ocean as inspiration for the artificial bouquet and flower crown that reflected the waves and unpredictability of the sea. We used a charity shop wedding dress to create this shoot, and it all worked together perfectly."

The myth of the Common Law Marriage

During the pandemic, temporary measures were introduced to the wedding scene to allow more flexibility and couples to proceed with their wedding even under lockdown laws.

Weddings were permitted to be conducted outdoors at certain licensed venues across England and Wales, which meant couples could still marry safely during the lockdowns.

In an exciting move towards helping couples have the wedding of their dreams, outdoor weddings at licensed venues will be legalised permanently as of 6th April 2022, under The Marriages and Civil Partnerships (Approved Premises) (Amendment) Regulations 2022.
