Aardvark Safari encourages honeymooners to postpone rather than cancel safari honeymoons

Now more than ever, it is vital to support the many African camps and lodges that are reliant on tourism to fund myriad conservation and community projects across sub-Saharan Africa. Safari specialist Aardvark Safaris is actively encouraging honeymooners to keep planning and is suggesting postponement rather than cancellation of their safari honeymoon.

With postponements just one element, the company is also eager to stress that future travel is desperately important too. Without it, the repercussions on conservation efforts and local communities will be unthinkable.

Co-owner, Alice Gully, comments, "This enforced lull in travel presents an opportunity to forward plan with our experienced experts at your disposal. Although we can't meet face to face we've embraced the virtual world and found Facetime calls perfect to bring to life the joys of a safari."

For Aardvark Safaris, this time isn't about making profit, but sustaining the safari industry and trying to protect partners on the ground with whom they have worked for 22 years.

"It is crucial that the employment opportunities provided by the tourism industry continue, both to support local economies and to generate the revenue to put back into conservation efforts all over the continent. It would be a tragedy if a decline in jobs led to an upsurge in poaching - undoing the many conservation success stories," Alice says.
