You can't hurry love

Joanne and Dominic had a beautiful wedding with a pink and cream colour scheme.

Joanne and Dominic first met at work in 2008, they immediately felt a spark and after working together for quite some time finally went on their first date. They chose to go to Dyffryn Gardens in the Vale of Glamorgan for a picnic, where they instantly fell for each other.

In November, 2015, Dominic popped the question. “It was a complete surprise,” explains Joanne. “Dominic involved our two children in the proposal; our son bought me breakfast in bed and our little girl wore a vest saying 'Will you marry daddy?'”

Here, Joanne shares some of her favourite moments from their big day…

We fell in love with the Old Post House at St Fagans straightaway, the staff there were so helpful and put us right at ease. We didn't want a big wedding and we felt the venue was intimate but still had enough room for everyone to be comfortable.

You can't hurry love: Image 2b My dress was very flattering, it pulled me in at the waist and had beautiful ruching that covered my post-baby bump. The staff at All About Eve were so helpful and patient with me and I knew as soon as I put it on that it was the one.

I normally wear very natural looking make-up and the amazing team at Blush Hair made sure I looked beautiful without straying too far from my normal look. They also did my hair finishing it off with a gorgeous tiara from Debenhams.

I initially wanted long gowns for my bridesmaids but as soon as I saw the knee-length, pink prom styled dresses I fell in love with them – they looked amazing.

You can't hurry love: Image 5We decided to line the aisle with small pieces of gypsophila, we also used them as table decorations on candelabra, they all looked amazing thanks to our really helpful florist, Adele from I Love Lily.

You can't hurry love: Image 5b I knew the style of cake I wanted before we began planning the wedding, I wanted it to follow the theme 'all you need is love' and our cake maker Janet was amazing – she created exactly what I imagined.

We used the company Dear Florence to decorate the marquee with flower pompoms, chair covers, table runners and they even added bunting to our quiet room.

You can't hurry love: Image 7To entertain our guests we had a harpist during the canapés and then for the meal, she took requests from everyone and played pretty much anything we asked for, even Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for the children.

You can't hurry love: Image 7b We tried to personalise our day by having questions about us on the back of our menu, a photo booth in the evening and Krispy Kreme donuts as favours.

I travelled to the church in a vintage car with my dad and later used the same car with my new husband. The journey was lovely – we smiled the whole way and kept looking at our beautiful rings.
