Michelle and Paul met in 2013 through an online dating site. The couple had their first date in Caerleon and were instantly attracted to one another. “It went really well and we saw each other every day after,” says Michelle.
Paul popped the question on the 15th August, 2014 while they had dinner during a holiday to Spain. After 16 months of planning the couple tied the knot on the 25th August, 2017.
Here, Michelle shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...
We decided to get married at Celtic Manor in Newport because it's close to our home and it has a good reputation . We first visited during a wedding fair in 2016 and we loved it right away. The coordinators were fantastic they helped recommend suppliers and answered any questions we had.
I tried on three dresses before I found the one, as a more mature bride I wanted something to suit my age and ooze sophistication. I purchased my gown from Do you Believe? in Newport with the help of my mum and the staff.
Paul wore a navy blue Ted Baker suit with a white shirt and blush tie and our sons Lewis and Morgan wore the same.
I had our three daughters as my bridesmaids, Kelsey and Seren wore floor-length blush one-shoulder gowns with a sa sh and diamanté brooch. While Madison's had a silver sequin bodice with a bow at the back and a blush skirt. We bought the dresses from Charlotte Alexander, they looked beautiful and the girls loved them.
We had a singer perform in the evening called James Williams, we'd seen him play at another event so we knew he was good. He was amazing on the night and he played a great mixture of old and modern music.
I had my hair done at Adorn Hair Studio in Newpor t as it's my usual salon and I knew they'd do a great job. I tried out two different styles before deciding on an up do, which I accessorised with a crystal hairband.
We decorated the venue with blush sequin runners, tablecloths, pillars with hurricane vases and diamanté brooches. For our centrepieces we had tall stands with pink flowers, crystals and small candles in tealight holders.
Our cake was from Bryn Awel Creative Cakes in Tonypandy, we had a consultation with Beverly before the wedding, she was amazing and she incorporated our chosen colours and flavours into the design perfectly.
Maxine had taken pictures of my daughter Seren for a modelling shoot so I 'd already seen some of her work. Our wedding photographs turned out great and the day was exactly what we'd hoped for.
I had my make-up done by Nicole Estée Launder in Newpor t, I had a trial there before the wedding and I loved the look they created. It was more glamorous than my usual style and I felt like a million pounds.
