Leslie and Sarah celebrated their wedding with a Cadbury purple colour scheme at the beautiful Exchange Hotel.
Leslie Barr, 51, married Sarah Thomas, 45, at the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff on the 12th November, 2017.
I was browsing through Facebook and I happened to see the Exchange Hotel. I started looking through the pictures and I could just imagine us having our first dance there. We went to visit it and just fell in love instantly and knew it was the per fect place for us.
My dress was by Romantica of Devon called Constance, it was the first gown I tried on and I kept going back to it. I opted for a subtle headpiece and I accessorised my look with a Swarovski necklace, earrings and a bracelet that Sarah had given to me as a gift on the day.
Sarah's dress was also by Romantica of Devon called Juniper, she felt it was the most comfor table choice and the staff at Carol's Bridalwear said it suited her best . She wore a Swarovski necklace, earrings and a watch I gave her.
It was difficult deciding on our bridesmaids' dresses as nothing seemed to suit all of the girls. In the end we purchased a Cadbur y's purple gown from eBay.
Walking down the aisle knowing I was about to marry my true love was just perfect. We brought the wedding forward so that my brother could walk me down the aisle as he has terminal cancer and his presence made the day extra special.
We decorated our top table with flowers from The Flower Shop Ebbw Vale they looked great and we were so pleased with them.
We had a Scottish theme to represent my heritage and to celebrate Sarah's Welsh upbringing we decided to have Welsh cakes as favours, which our guests loved.
We purchased our cake and sweet cart from Jan's Cakes, Sarah loves treats so it was a great addition to the day. We opted for a four-tier bake and each layer had a different flavour including coffee and walnut, red velvet, carrot and Victoria sponge.
During the ceremony we had a live singer perform a variety of songs that we all loved. Although she was only 14-years-old she was amazing and some of our guests actually thought it was a tape playing. She was a massive hit and has even entered Britain's Got Talent.
Our photographs were taken by Morgan James Photography. After meeting Peter and seeing some of his work we knew right away that we wanted him to photograph our big day. His extremely passionate and the service he delivers is outstanding.
All the men and children who attended wore full-Scottish regalia. Sarah and I travelled to Scotland to find the groomsmen's outfits and we ended up purchasing them from The Kilt Centre in Hamilton.
