Miranda and Kevin had their first date at a pub. “It was a beautiful night,” says Miranda. “We talked for hours and fell in love right there and then.”
Kevin popped the question on 28th June, 2015, at Henrhyd Falls in the Brecon Beacons National Park. “It was a real shock, and I didn't see it coming,” shares the bride. “He asked me to be his wife, and I burst into tears! There were a few tourists taking pictures of us and clapping their hands, which made the moment even more special.”
Here she shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...
I lost my dad in 2015 and my mum in 2016, so setting a date for the wedding was the last thing on my mind. The Exchange Hotel was hosting a wedding fair, and Kevin suggested we attend. The second we walked through the doors, I could feel my father's presence and knew it was the place for us. The staff were amazing, especially Michelle and Charlotte, who went above and beyond to make our dream day a reality.
Kevin and I chose a large mirror for our table planand had everyone's names engraved on to it.
My uncle walked me down the aisle. I was so honoured that he agreed to do it because it was my parents final wish.
We styled the venue with blossom trees, signs, a light-up dancefloor, a touch-screen photo booth and feathers placed in large plinths.
As it was New Year's Eve, we gave each of our guests a sparkler as a favour.
For our centrepieces, we chose a gold candelabra that we decorated with crushed flowers.
Kevin and the groomsmen wore tuxedos and bow ties from Dyfed Menswear.
My dress was a Ronald Joyce design called Tate from All About EveBridalwear in Newport. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love with itshigh neck and low back. I had it customised to include more beadingand bling.
Our big-day bake was from Bella Cakes. We optedfor a four-tier creation embellished with silverbeads, flowers and feathers.
The bridesmaids opted for black gowns from Belle Mariee Bridal. I chose a variety of necklines to ensure that they all felt comfortable
The speeches were impressive especially Kevin's.
We hired a DJ and a light-up dancefloor to keep our loved ones entertained.
My bridesmaids and family made the night before the wedding a magical experience. I received lots of thoughtful gifts and had a wonderful time.
Seeing all of our hard work pay off was amazing. I knew my parents would be so proud and were right by my side.
Our photographer, Philip Warren, made our nearest and dearest feel so relaxed, and his attention to detail was second to none. He was a perfect gentleman and really professional.
For our honeymoon, we went to the Amari Hotel in Thailand for three weeks.
