"After months of talking, Matt came to visit me for our first official date, and we've been inseparable ever since!" Matthew proposed on 5th January, 2019 at Southerndown Beach. "It was the day before my 24th birthday, and we'd gone for a walk on the beach," shares the bride. We walked to the top of the cliff, overlooking the beach, close to where we had sat on one of our first dates, and he asked if I wanted to be his wife. The latest hair and make-up trends

The latest hair and make-up trends

A popular hairstyle is soft Hollywood waves accessorised with pearl pins or a headband. I've also seen a rise in textured up dos with fresh flowers or flower crowns, which is perfect for outdoor weddings with a relaxed boho vibe. For your make-up, soft glamour with brown smoky eyes and gold pigments will make your eyes pop. Finish with wispy lashes, a bronzer and a nude lip. Alternatively, you could opt for the oh-so-popular fresh, dewy look. It's a very natural style that concentrates on the skin with dusky pinks and rose golds for the eyes, blush on the cheeks and a nude or pink for the lips.... read more

How to make your ceremony fun and memorable

Your wedding ceremony is typically the first time you will be in front of all your family and friends, so it's important that it feels like the most authentic representation of who you are as a couple. One way to do this is through your music choices. For example, if you're into rock or rap, incorporating these genres into your service can show off some of the things that make you both special. There are many ways to incorporate fun elements into your big day, from dramatic entrances to games and activities for guests during the cocktail hour.... read more

Get those dancing shoes on - weddings are restriction free!

The day has finally come – wedding ceremonies and celebrations are restriction free! Grab your dancing shoes and get ready to sing at the top of your voice: "Celebrate good times... come on!"It's been a long road that many of us have tentatively navigated over the last 16 months; from us here at County Wedding Magzines HQ to suppliers and couples. There's been small highs and many lows, as each glimmer of hope was put out by another government announcement.Lockdown 1.0 turned into 2.0 and then 3.0, wedding guest numbers went from 0 to 12, 15 to 30 and now we can actually invite all of our loved ones, friends and family dear to our hearts to the big day. There's really been no better time to say 'I do', not only will it be mask free (personal choice), socially distance-free and rule-free; but it will be a true celebration of marriage, a union of friends and family, love and friendship.... read more

Emily and Lloyd danced the night away with friends and family at Llanerch Vineyard

Emily and Lloyd danced the night away with friends and family at Llanerch Vineyard

Emily and Lloyd met while working at a shop 10 years ago. "I was attracted to his smile and funny sense of humour," says Emily. "He proposed in Rhossili at the Worms Head on 20th October, 2018. He was adamant that he wanted to do it there even though the tide was coming in! Lloyd pretended he wanted to take a picture, and I was panicking saying I could see the sea coming in and the waves were getting closer. He got down on one knee and asked the question. I literally burst out laughing and forgot to say yes! I eventually did, looked at the ring on my finger, grabbed my things and shouted for the dog to come quickly and left Lloyd to get the camera and everything else. The lifeguards were that concerned that they raised the alarm and were shouting over the tannoy for us to come back to land. We made it back to strangers cheering and clapping. We had sandwiches and champagne on dry land and enjoyed the view. It was a lovely surprise even though I knew Lloyd was up to something as he kept talking about the sandwiches all week and tidying the house!"... read more

Meet Sarah Powney from The Naked Vegan

I've been baking since I could hold a spatula. Since having allergies, I started creating vegan cakes along with a whole range of other delicious delights. My goal was to debunk the myth that vegan creations are bland, boring and contain bonkers ingredients. A few years ago, I decided to take the plunge and started baking for a living. I set up The Naked Vegan and wanted to create fabulous products using only the finest pure naked ingredients, hence the name. I'm always coming up with new ideas and spend months perfecting recipes and designs until they are perfect because of this, everyone can enjoy my wonderful bakes. My passion is to make the best tasting products that everyone, not just vegans, can enjoy. My cakes are so good that I now have a large customer base of non-vegans.... read more

Meet Jenny Leeb-Du Toit from Cakes Especially

I've always loved baking and making sweet treats. It was my go to activity when I was growing up, and I learnt from my mistakes and had fun in the process. I was quite a proficient baker by the time I left school. I practiced for friends and family for years and built up my decorating skills by attending several courses. I was a laboratory scientist for a few years, and I find that baking is a scientific process – just much more fun! I enrolled in decorating courses which led me to open my own business and teach a class in Abergavenny. My favourite thing in the world is making wedding cakes, from meeting clients to the design and set up.... read more
