Influenced by their passion for history, Caryl and John tied the knot at the grand Craig Y Nos Castle
Caryl and John met during a night out in Llandeilo. “My friend and I were having a drink when we saw John looking in my direction,” says Caryl. “I was attracted to how tall he was and his cheeky smile. We got talking, and things progressed from there.”
John popped the question during a getaway in March 2017. “We wanted to go somewhere that had a mixture of city and nature, so we chose Sheffield,” explains the bride. “We took a car trip to the Peak District, visiting the blue vein caves and finishing with a tour of Hardwick Hall. John got down on one knee in the gardens only to see me walking away, taking photos on my phone. He waited for me to finish and tried again, but I was too engrossed in getting the perfect shot! Finally, on the third attempt, I turned around to see him on one knee holding a ring. It was a big surprise, and we couldn’t have been happier.”
