Inspired 2019 is hosting a two day charity event at Abergavenny Castle on the 3rd and 4th August 2019 to raise funds for Breast Cancer Haven; Cancer Research UK and the Critical Care Unit of Nevill Hall Hospital.

The outdoor concert is being organised by local resident Erica Hawke who explained “Due to a Breast Cancer scare last year, I wanted to do an event to give something back; I have chosen to try and raise some money for Breast Cancer Haven. This charity specifically appealed to me as it gives support to women and their families affected by a Breast Cancer diagnosis.

"I also want to split the money raised with the Critical Care Unit at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, whom two years ago saved my husband’s life following a sudden illness, their care, professionalism and efforts kept our family together. I also wish to make a donation to Cancer Research UK due to the fact that my husband has unfortunately been diagnosed with Leukemia. My husband is moving forward positively but I am fortunate that he has been in the music / outdoor event world for 30 years working with some of the world’s biggest artists, so he will have no choice but to help me with this event."

Saturday 3rd August will feature a number of bands from various era’s including Dave Finnegan’s Commitments & Charlotte Church with her Late Night Pop Dungeon. Also agreed to play is Lindy Layton (Beats International), Phats & Small, The New Purple Celebration (Music of Prince) and Georgia Box the social media sensation with over 90 million views. The whole day will be hosted with introductions and music from The Will Smith Experience featuring Shad Ellis.

Sunday 4th August will be a revival with acts from that decade; already confirmed are The New Mindbenders, Ray Ennis the voice of The Swinging Blue Jeans, Chris Farlowe, Zoot Money, Creedence Clearwater Revived; Masterpiece Temptations and The Fourmosts. The day will be hosted by BBC Wales Radio's Wynne Evans.

The event is supported by Visit Monmouthshire, O2 in association with Avertec, Glanusk Estate, Eridge Park and The Abergavenny Castle & Museum.

Rachael Rogers, the museums manager said – “We are very pleased that Abergavenny Castle has been chosen as the venue for Inspired 2019, an event that supports three causes that have such a positive impact on so many people”.

Tickets are £24.50 for each day (plus service charge or agency fees) and are available from the event website www.inspired2019.co.uk; the O2 store in Merthyr Tydfil, the Visit Monmouthshire Eshop www.visitmonmouthshire.com and Abergavenny Castle.
